Sky Mobile SIM only plans

Sky Mobile offers SIM only plans with a choice of data allowances, unlimited UK calls and texts, and the flexibility to change your data plan when your needs change.

Depending on the plan available, you can choose between a 24-month contract or a 30-day rolling plan, making Sky Mobile suitable whether you want the lower monthly cost of a longer commitment or the freedom to leave with less notice.

All Sky Mobile SIM only plans include:

  • Unlimited calls and texts
  • 5G at no extra cost where available
  • Unused data rolled into your Sky Piggybank
  • The option to change your data allowance
  • Access to Sky's mobile switching support
  • Roaming in more than 120 destinations for £2 a day, with free roaming for eligible Sky VIP Diamond customers

24-month vs 30-day Sky Mobile plans

Sky Mobile now gives customers more choice over how long they commit to their SIM only plan.

A 24-month plan is designed for customers who are happy to commit for longer in return for the best available monthly price or promotional offer.

A 30-day plan gives you considerably more flexibility. Rather than committing to a long-term contract, you can use the plan on a rolling basis and change provider when you no longer need it, subject to Sky's cancellation terms.

If you're confident you'll stay with Sky Mobile for two years, a 24-month plan could offer better value. If your circumstances might change, the 30-day option is worth considering even if the monthly price is higher.

Why choose a Sky Mobile SIM only deal?

Roll your unused data into your Sky Piggybank

One of Sky Mobile's most useful features is its data rollover.

Any unused data from your monthly allowance is automatically added to your Sky Piggybank, where you can keep it for up to 12 months. You can then redeem your saved data in 1GB increments when you need it.

If you have multiple Sky Mobile SIMs on the same account, unused data can also be shared between up to seven SIMs.

Sky also allows customers to use their saved data for selected rewards or money off devices and accessories.

Change your data allowance

Your data needs can change from month to month, so Sky lets you change your data plan through the My Sky app.

This can be useful if you find yourself regularly running out of data or consistently have a large amount left over.

Bear in mind that changing your plan can affect the terms of your offer, so check the conditions attached to your particular deal before switching.

Unlimited calls and texts

Sky Mobile SIM only plans include unlimited calls and texts to eligible UK numbers.

This means you don't need to worry about adding a separate calls and texts allowance when comparing Sky's SIM only deals. Your main decision is choosing the amount of mobile data you need.

Sky Mobile coverage

Sky Mobile uses the O2 network, giving customers access to extensive UK coverage and 5G where available.

Sky says its network covers 99% of the UK population. Actual coverage can vary depending on your location, surroundings and device, so it is worth checking Sky's coverage checker before signing up.

Tethering and mobile hotspot

Sky Mobile allows customers to use their phone as a personal hotspot, provided their device supports tethering.

This means you can use your mobile data connection to get a laptop, tablet or another device online when Wi-Fi isn't available.

Remember that tethering can use a significant amount of data, particularly when streaming video or downloading large files.

Roaming on Sky Mobile

Sky's Roaming Passport Plus lets you use your UK data allowance, calls and texts in 120 destinations worldwide for £2 a day. Sky more than doubled the number of included destinations from 55 to 120 in May 2026, with coverage across the EU/EEA and popular destinations further afield, including the USA, Canada, Australia, India, Thailand, South Africa and Turkey.

If you're a Sky VIP Diamond customer you can use Roaming Passport Plus in all 120 destinations at no extra cost. Free roaming is available on all Sky Mobile data plans for eligible Diamond customers.

Roaming Passport Plus is subject to a 25GB data fair usage limit per billing period. If you're travelling somewhere that isn't covered by Roaming Passport Plus, Sky's standard international roaming charges will apply.

Frequently asked questions

Which network does Sky Mobile use?

Sky Mobile uses the O2 network rather than operating its own mobile network. Sky customers therefore receive coverage through the O2 network, including 5G where available.

Can I get a 30-day Sky Mobile SIM?

A 30-day plan can be useful if you don't want to commit to a 24-month contract or you expect your circumstances to change.

Are Sky Mobile SIM only plans 24 months?

Sky Mobile now offers 24-month SIM only options as well as 30-day plans. The contract length depends on the deal you choose, so check the individual offer before signing up.

Do you need Sky Broadband or Sky TV?

No. You don't need to have Sky Broadband or Sky TV to take out a Sky Mobile SIM only plan.

However, existing Sky customers may be able to make better use of some of Sky Mobile's additional features, such as Sky's mobile entertainment benefits and Sky VIP rewards.

Does Sky Mobile have unlimited data?

Yes. Sky Mobile offers an unlimited data plan as well as a range of fixed data allowances.

The unlimited option is subject to Sky's fair usage policy.

Does unused Sky Mobile data roll over?

Yes. Unused data is automatically added to your Sky Piggybank at the end of your billing period, apart from unlimited data plans.

Saved data can be redeemed in 1GB increments and expires after 12 months.

Can I share my Sky Piggybank data?

Yes. If you have multiple Sky Mobile SIMs on the same account, you can share unused rolled-over data between up to seven SIMs.

Can I use my Sky Mobile SIM abroad?

The standard charge is £2 per day, while eligible Sky VIP Diamond customers can use the service at no extra cost.

Do Sky Mobile plans include 5G?

Yes. 5G is available on compatible devices where Sky's 5G network is available.

You should check Sky's coverage checker to see what coverage is predicted at your address.
