VOXI is a sub-brand of Vodafone launched in September 2017. Initially available to under 25s only, in April 2019 the age limit was removed making VOXI available to all users.
Let's take a look in more detail at what VOXI Mobile has to offer.
SIM only plans
VOXI keep things simple by offering just five SIM plans with varying data levels, all on 30-day flexible rolling contracts. Choose from 6Gb, 12Gb, 15Gb, 45Gb or unlimited.
Unlimited calls, texts & picture messages are standard on all plans, so you only need to worry about choosing the data level that suits you. And because the plans are flexible monthly plans, you’re free to change, pause or cancel anytime.
Phone contracts
VOXI's pay monthly smartphone contracts work a little different to most other providers. You essentially take out a 30 month finance agreement via PayPal Credit for the cost of the phone, alongside one of their regular SIM only plans. You then pay for the handset separately and in instalments.
Because the phone cost and SIM plan are separate, you can leave VOXI anytime by cancelling the SIM, but you will still have to pay the phone off each month. You can also make additional payments at any time to clear the phone balance sooner, or bring the monthly cost down.
The major downside here is that the phones are locked to Vodafone. To unlock your phone, you'll have to use your VOXI SIM for at least 30 days and then contact them to get it unlocked.
Another downside is that this is essentially a loan. So if you have bad credit history then it could be hard to get accepted. You can pay for your phone in full upfront with a debit or credit card if the finance route isn't for you.

All VOXI plans come with Unlimited Social Media. Anything else you do online, such as browsing websites, sending emails and using maps comes out of the general data on your chosen plan.

Tethering
You are free to tether with VOXI (assuming your device supports this), with the only data restriction being your own data allowance. Tethering is where you use your mobile phone as a wireless mobile broadband router using your mobile data allowance to get online with other devices like a laptop or tablet.
You can also use the unlimited social data and any other unlimited data passes you have when tethering a phone, laptop or tablet. However, tethering a console, TV, Chromecast, or the like will cause data to come out of your normal allowance.
Coverage
VOXI Mobile is an MVNO operating on the Vodafone network, which is no surprise given they are owned by them. The Vodafone network covers more than 99% of the UK population with data speeds that averaging 21.92Mb.
Roaming with VOXI
EU Roaming
From 27 May 2022, VOXI introduced a range of European Roaming Passes for when you want to use your VOXI plan in European roaming destinations.
You can choose from 4 different durations, depending on how long you’ll be travelling for – if you’re away for more than 15 days, you can just log in to your VOXI account online to buy another European Roaming Pass.

All VOXI plans are subject to a 20GB per 30-day plan fair use limit when roaming in their Europe Zone. For example, if your VOXI plan includes 25GB of data a month, you can use up to 20GB of data a month when roaming in their Europe Zone. If you reach the 20GB limit, you will need to purchase one of their Data Extras so that you can continue roaming.
