Virgin Media TV deals
Virgin Media is the only major provider that offers broadband without a landline. Other ISPs use the BT Openreach network to provide services and that requires an active telephone line. Learn more about why you (probably) need a phone line to get broadband

Can't find the right deal? 😕 Let us help! 🤓

With literally thousands of different packages, speeds and other various options available across all the broadband, TV & phone providers it's nigh on impossible to list them all.

We'd love to help you find the perfect deal though! Please email us at [email protected] (or message us on Facebook if you'd prefer) with a brief description of what you're looking for and we'll get right back to you! ❤️

All you need to know about Virgin Media TV

Originally founded by Richard Branson in 1989, Virgin Mobile and Virgin.net merged with NTL and Telewest in 2006 to become the UK’s first ‘quad play’ provider. They have since gone on to become one of the UK's biggest TV providers giving Sky a run for their money.

Let's take a look in more detail at what Virgin Media TV has to offer.

Virgin Media TV packages

Virgin Media offer a few different bundles to choose from depending on the type of content you watch. All these bundles have broadband included, with the option to upgrade your speed. Customers also have the option to upgrade each TV bundle to a Volt bundle, which gives a boost in broadband speed to the next tier.

Big Bundle

The Big Bundle is the most basic package with over 110 channels, mostly free-to-air ones. The M125 broadband and Talk Weekends is also included as standard, but both can also be personalised and boosted.

TNT Sports, Sky Sports and Sky Cinema can be added for an additional cost.

Bigger Combo Bundle

All the entertainment picks are included as standard in the Bigger Bundle, that’s over 190 channels.

The M250 broadband and Weekend chatter plan is included as standard, but again, both can also be personalised and boosted.

Biggest Combo Bundle

The Biggest Combo Bundle includes Netflix Standard plan alongside Sky Sports HD and Sky Cinema HD.

Volt

Customers with both Virgin Media Broadband and an O2 pay-monthly contract can ‘supercharge’ their package with Volt.

Volt is the first joint product following the merger of Virgin Media and O2 back in June 2021. The Volt products, which replaced the old Virgin Media ‘Oomph’ bundles, give customers access to special benefits simply by being customers of both brands. Volt benefits include:

  • Virgin Media broadband speed boost to the next available level (if you aren’t already on the fastest speeds you can get in your area).
  • Double data on every eligible O2 Pay Monthly plan in your name, in your household.
  • WiFi guarantee included at no extra cost and up to 3 WiFi pods
  • Roam in 75 destinations, with O2 Travel Inclusive Zone.
  • Get up to £150 off an O2 Custom Plan for a connected device when you take out a phone on a new O2 Custom Plan.

Mega Volt Bundle

Virgin Media’s pièce de résistance! Previously known as the Ultimate Volt Bundle, the Mega Volt Bundle is the full premium package of over 230 channels including Sky Sports HD, Sky Cinema HD and Kids Pick, all bundled with the lightning fast Gig1 broadband, Anytime chatter and a Netflix Standard plan. In addition you also get a totally unlimited O2 SIM.

Why choose Virgin Media TV?

Multiroom

The days of fighting over the remote are over. Add another box and watch all the channels in your TV package from any room in the house, as well as on demand shows and apps. Content can also be shared from one box to another meaning you can record in one room and watch in another.

The Virgin TV 360 experience includes one main box, but you can add a Mini box for £10 extra a month, and a second Mini box for £5 more a month.

We've done a full guide on multiroom

Virgin Media Store

Enjoy the latest movies and the best TV box sets with the Virgin Media Store. Great for those who just want to watch the occasional movie and don't want to subscribe to the Sky Cinema add on. Watch on your TV, app, or online.

Virgin TV Go App

Those always on the go can watch their favourite shows on a compatible mobile, laptop or tablet anywhere in the UK where there is WiFi, 3G or 4G. Enjoy live channels, Catch Up and On Demand on up to 4 devices. You can even download programmes to your device and watch them when you're out and about.

The Virgin TV Go app is available free to all Virgin TV customers.

Sky Sports

Virgin Media TV customers can subscribe to all 11 Sky Sports channels with the Sky Sports Collection.

What's bad about Virgin Media TV?

No Sky Atlantic

Virgin Media TV doesn't offer any option to watch the sought after Sky Atlantic channel. Currently this is only available from Sky, NOW TV or BT (with their NOW TV Pass).

Complex installation for new customers

If your home is already set up for Virgin then you should find installation fairly simple. If your home isn’t set up then things get a little more complicated as engineers will need to install cabling.

Not available everywhere

Whilst using it’s own cable network means people can enjoy blazingly fast speeds, the downside is it just doesn’t have the same availability as the Openreach network. Virgin Media is currently available to around 60% of UK homes, compared to BT and Sky who are between 90% and 95% of UK households.

Virgin TV 360

Virgin Media has launched their new TV platform offering 360 viewing experience.

New Virgin TV 360 features include:

  • Voice Search & Control – a new remote allows you to use your voice to find the telly you love, open apps, pause, skip forward or back and breeze around content quickly.
  • Profiles – family members can now create their own profiles so that they can control their own pause points, select their favourite channels and receive personalised recommendations.
  • Startover – lets you skip back to the beginning of live programmes, even if they’ve already started.
  • New Mini box – recordings only need to be made once and can be shared across multiple set top boxes which allows for seamless Ultra-HD multi-room viewing throughout the home.
  • Upgraded Virgin TV Go app – offers a boosted on the go experience that allows customers to pause a programme on one set top box and carry on watching it on their tablet in another room or on the move.

Virgin TV 360 boxes are 4K and HDR-ready as standard and allow you to record up to 6 shows while enjoying a 7th

Virgin TV Control App

Turn your mobile into a remote. Set and manage your recordings, browse the TV guide or change channel from anywhere in the world, with WiFi, 3G or 4G. Available at no extra cost and can be used on as many compatible devices as you like.

Stream from Virgin Media

Launched in April 2022, Stream from Virgin Media is a small palm-sized box which plugs into your existing TV. This uses your Virgin Media broadband connection to stream Freeview content direct to your TV, removing the need for an aerial. Subscribe to your favourite streaming TV services, like Netflix and Disney+, through Stream, and pay for them through your Virgin Media bill.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Virgin Media TV cost?

How much you spend depends on the package you choose. Virgin Media TV bundles start from £33 per month. View all the latest Virgin Media TV deals.

What is Virgin TV 360?

Virgin TV 360 is Virgin's newest TV platform offering a seamless connected entertainment experience that moves with you.

Available to all new customers, it features new Mini boxes for seamless Ultra-HD streaming around the home, a new TV remote with voice function and a slick image-based user interface with profiles to create a more intuitive and personalised experience.

Can I get TV only from Virgin Media?

Yes, you can get standalone TV from Virgin Media, but it’s not something that they advertise and it’s pretty difficult to find it on their website. The only package you can get is the Maxit TV package.

Virgin Media TV is centred around their TV and broadband bundles, and these are going to offer the best value. Opting for TV only means you could possibly end up paying more, even if your broadband is from a ‘budget’ provider.

Can I watch Sky Atlantic on Virgin Media?

Unfortunately - no. Sky Atlantic is only available with either Sky TV or NOW TV. That's not to say it is impossible to watch Sky Atlantic if you are with Virgin Media, you will just need to be prepared to pay for a separate NOW TV subscription.

Can I get Virgin Media TV in my area?

As Virgin Media operates on its own network, coverage is very different from that of Openreach. Currently, Virgin Media serves around 15 million UK homes, and that number keeps growing.

What is Virgin Media Volt?

Customers who combine services from both Virgin Media and O2 can take advantage of exclusive benefits. Volt benefits include double data on your O2 mobile allowance and Virgin Media broadband speed boost to the next available level (if you aren’t already on the fastest speeds you can get in your area).

Can I get Pluto TV on Virgin?

Virgin Media customers with either Virgin TV 360 or Virgin Media Stream can now watch Pluto TV directly via their set-top box – all at no extra cost.

Pluto TV is the leading free, ad-supported streaming TV service giving customers access to more than 100 live linear channels spanning drama, news, sport, entertainment, kids’ programmes and much more, as well as thousands of iconic films and television series on-demand.

How do I switch to Virgin Media TV?

Switching to Virgin Media TV couldn't be easier. Once you have found the deal you want, simply click the ‘View Deal’ button. This will take you to Virgin Media’s website, who will guide you through the rest of the process. Or you can click the link below to go direct to the Virgin Media website.

If your house is not already set up for Virgin Media then an engineer will need to come and install the cables. Virgin Media will arrange this when you place your order.

Make sure you give notice to your current provider, as Virgin won’t do this for you.

QuickStart self-install available

If your home has been connected to the Virgin Media network before (such as a previous resident) you may be able to use Virgin's QuickStart Self install. Virgin will send you everything you need with a simple step by step guide to set up on your own. No need to wait around for engineers.
